Green Oasis on the Rooftop — The Terrace in Modern Urban Living.
Living above the city, between openness and intimacy, architecture and nature. The interplay of concrete, filtered light, gravel and greenery shapes a sheltered yet permeable room, transforming a rooftop into an everyday living space suspended between domestic intimacy and the urban horizon.
Located on the top floor of a residential tower, the rooftop was initially an open space without a clearly defined identity, yet with the potential to become a natural extension of the home while maintaining a connection with the surrounding city.
The transformation centres on a vertical brise-soleil structure that filters views of neighbouring buildings while preserving sightlines towards the urban horizon. Integrated overhead curtains provide additional shade and privacy when needed. A solid concrete threshold defines and anchors the space, while gravel extends around it, accommodating pots and plants arranged in a natural, informal composition.
